Rangers place German on DL, recall Moscoso
Infielder Esteban German was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin muscle on Tuesday, and relief pitcher Guillermo Moscoso was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to take his spot on the 25-man roster.
This is Moscoso’s fourth stint with the Rangers this season. He is 0-0 with a 4.32 ERA over five relief appearances with the Rangers. Moscoso will be in uniform for the Rangers and available tonight.
He has gone 5-3 with a 2.17 ERA in 10 games (nine starts) with Oklahoma City, his first experience in Triple A. Opponents were hitting just .223 against him this season.
German was 2-for-12 (.167) with two walks in three games at second base for the Rangers since being called up on August 5. He will be eligible to be activated on August 29.
