Kinsler activated, Cruz on the disabled list
The Rangers have activated second baseman Ian Kinsler and placed outfielder Nelson Cruz on the disabled list.
Cruz has been sidelined since Aug. 3 with a sprained left ankle. He is hitting .269 with 25 home runs and 58 RBI.
Kinsler was activated after missing 16 days with a strained hamstring muscle. He was 0-for-7 in two games on medical rehabilitation assignment with Double A Frisco. He is not in the lineup for Friday’s game but he is activated.
