Rangers call up Joaquin Arias, Francisco throws
The Rangers called up middle infielder Joaquin Arias from Triple A Oklahoma City.
Ian Kinsler left last night’s game against the Tigers in the sixth inning with a strained left hamstring and was not in Wednesday’s lineup against the Tigers. Kinsler is day-to-day with tenderness in his hamstring.
Arias was hitting .276 in 89 games with the RedHawks and had 16 stolen bases.
The Rangers optioned reliever Doug Mathis to make room for Arias on the 25-man roster.
Frank Francisco threw batting practice before Wednesday’s game and said he’s ready to pitch when the Rangers feel he’s ready to do so.

does this mean kinsler is out tonight?
