Moscoso activated, Eyre optioned to Minors

The Rangers activated right-hander Guillermo Moscoso from Triple-A Oklahoma City to give their pitching staff length in the bullpen and someone who could fill in in the starting rotation.

Willie Eyre was optioned to Oklahoma City to make room for Moscoso on the 25-man roster

In four innings with the Rangers this season, Moscoso has a 4.50 ERA over four innings pitched. He returned to Triple-A Oklahoma City to stretch his arm out to be a starter and has had success. Over seven games (six starts), he posted a 1.85 ERA over 39 innings pitched.

Moscoso’s last appeared in a game for the RedHawks as a starter on Thursday. He earned the no decision after pitching seven innings against New Orleans. He would’ve been able to start tonight considering rest.

Moscoso was acquired from the Tigers in the Gerald Laird trade on Dec. 8, 2008.

Eyre has a 4.91 ERA in six relief appearances with three stints with the Rangers this season.

Moscoso is a good move up. Our rotation has taken a beating with health. He can pull his weight in long or a start stint. JD keeps making the right moves, as long as the farm can supply.
Fighting to get a trade arm is trying, but JD’s giving all he’s got. It looks good, with a few days left till 31st JUL end~ ;-)
