Harrison ready to start rehab outings

Starter Matt Harrison threw about 70 pitches in batting practice before Sunday’s game against the Twins.

“I thought he threw the ball well,” manager Ron Washington said. “When he starts getting into competition, he’ll get his command back.”

Harrison said his command was a little off, but he pitched well to Jarrod Saltalamacchia, David Murphy and Taylor Teagarden. He recorded five strikeouts, three by David Murphy. Murphy responded with a home run to opposite field and a single up the middle at Harrison.

More importantly, Harrison felt that his arm slot and delivery felt much better. He fell into bad habits, which he says caused inflammation around his left biceps.

Harrison expects to throw a medical rehabilitation start on Wednesday, but he doesn’t know where. The early guess would be with Double-A Frisco, who play at home against the San Antonio Missions, over Triple-A Oklahoma City, which is on the road.

Good news.

the pitch calling for Holland sucks, it has been pointed out
by one of the announcers on the after game summary. Hamilton doesn’t know the strike zone, and can’t hit a
breaking ball. Teagarden is a major league player with
pedigree and hits 200? I’m sick and tired of the way these
players hit. Six strike outs in a game is too many. Players
do not know how to hit when behind .
