Rangers sign Jurickson Profar

Word has been confirmed that the Rangers have signed Jurickson Profar, a former Little League World Series star from Curacao. The 16-year-old Profar is one of the top prospects to sign on international signing day. He is a pitcher and a shortstop who led Curacao to the Little League World Series title in 2004.

The Rangers do not announce international signings but that’s the word around baseball that Profar is property of the Rangers.

Yes, but remember the minors are there for the Big Club. All can’t make it, so they become commodities for trades. Without taking from the top, some vet infusion is not only a viable choice, but necessary to make the team championship form.
Pitching is the focus, with great defensive support. I’d say a 3 year contracted pitcher to add, is almost mandatory in 2009.
All others will come from the bottom. A good vet pitcher won’t.
