Harrah, Sierra joining Rangers Hall of Fame
Infielder Toby Harrah and outfielder Ruben Sierra are joining the Rangers Hall of Fame as the Class of 2009. They will be inducted on Aug. 1 before the Rangers game with the Mariners at the Ballpark in Arlington.
Harrah was one of the Rangers best players in the 1970′s, a three-time All-Star shortstop before moving to third base in 1977. That was after the Rangers signed Bert Campaneris. He came back for his final two seasons in 1985-86 and his .432 on-base percentage in 1985 was a club record before Milton Bradley broke it last year.
Sierra was a four-time Rangers Player of the Year in 1987-89 and 1991. His 1989 season was one of the best ever by a Rangers player.

Congratulations to both. I think Toby should’ve been among the first to go in. An original Ranger who absolutely did everything he could for his team. He should be working in this organization like Sunny. Would love to see Mike Hargrove next. I would also like to see Steve Foucalt. Not big numbers, but the big guy was really the first decent closer this team had. Who wouldn’t want to see that chubby belly with a chaw of tobacco in his jaw just one more time?
