Harrison Hurting, McCarthy To Pitch Saturday

LHP Matt Harrison has been scratched from Saturday’s game against the A’s with a sore shoulder.  RHP Brandon McCarthy who was scheduled to pitch the first game of Friday’s doubleheader will make the start in place of Harrison.

RHP Scott Feldman will pitch the second game of the doubleheader on Friday.

The pitcher for the first game is TBA.  The possible starter for that game could be RHP Kris Benson or RHP Doug Mathis or RHP Tommy Hunter.  To make room for Mathis or Hunter the Rangers would have to put Harrison on the DL.  They are going to wait a few more days before they make that decision.  More on the website later.

I hope everything is ok structurally with the shoulder.

Boy, that’s some bad news for sure. I have really enjoyed his courage and discipline. He’s a tough guy so I hope he’ll be fine soon. Even when behind, he just kept pounding the strike zone, and worked aggressively. He’s one of the best young men we’ve brought up in a long time. He’ll surely be missed. Get well soon, Matt. We need you to be healthy!

Damn Yankees not only did they take two out of three they hurt Matt.

Say Matt goes on the DL for an extended period of time, does that mean we might see a Neftali Feliz sighting in Arlington?
