Feldman told he's in the bullpen

The Rangers met with pitcher Scott Feldman on Wednesday morning and told him that he was going to the bullpen.

Feldman will start on Thursday against the Royals but will be used in relief during the regular season. He will join Jason Jennings, who is being added to the 25-man roster and is also in the bullpen.

Feldman was 6-8 with a 5.29 ERA in 28 games, including 25 starts, for the Rangers last year. Moving him to the bullpen opens up a spot for Kris Benson to join the rotation. The Rangers also met with Benson on Wednesday morning and told him that he was on the team and in the rotation.

Also on Wednesday morning the Rangers…

* Told Eddie Guardado and Jason Jennings they were on the team

* Said that Willie Eyre and Dustin Nippert will likely start the season on the disabled list.

* Reassigned Neftali Feliz to Minor League camp. They expect to do the same with Derek Holland and Doug Mathis after Wednesday’s game against the Angels.

* The Rangers were also planning to tell shortstop Omar Vizquel that he is on the team.

* Outfielder Brandon Boggs is also going back to the Minor Leagues, leaving the last decision between Andruw Jones and Frank Catalanotto for the final spot on the bench.

The possession arrow is pointed at Jones.
