Jones asked to stay…wants to stay
The Rangers have asked Andruw Jones to stay in camp. They have told him there might be an opportunity here as a backup outfielder and right-handed DH. Jones has expressed a willingness to stay. He has until midnight on Monday to take his free agency if the Rangers don’t add him to the 25-man roster. They will not do that. But they want him to stay in camp. The Rangers need to make room for him by doing something with Frank Catalanotto. That is the unresolved issue.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out.
