Wow, it doesn’t seem like that long ago there were guard dogs and shooting at that area of Berlin. How fast the world has changed, or we have gotten older.
I remember that day so well because of my German heritage, heck my parents made me take German in High School and I still am trying to find a use for it all.
Thanks for that photo blast from the past. It reminds me why I am so happy be living free today.
I didn’t realize you thought Bruce Springsteen performing at half-time was that big of a deal.
Wow. How the world has changed. Thanks for reminding us how great it is to live in America. Things might not be prefect here but there is no place I would rather live.
We were in Germany at that time. It was a very special time for those people. Not only the Berliners but all of the former East Germans, Poles, Czechs, and every other former east bloc country. I spent most of the 1980′s (81-82, 85-90) as part of the US Army over there and the fall of the Berlin wall was a special reward at the end. My wife and I have a special fondness for that part of the world, our oldest was born there, we had a lot of great times in Europe. It was a privilege to have participated in such a historic time.
