2009 schedule

The Rangers are opening the 2009 season at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

The Rangers will open the season with an afternoon game on Monday, April 6 against the Indians according to the schedule released on Wednesday. It’s just the second time in nine years the Rangers opened at home.

The Rangers home schedule also includes visits by the Astros, Dodgers and Padres during Interleague play and two trips each by the Red Sox, Rays, Twins and Blue Jays. The Yankees come to town just once on May 25-27. The Dodgers will be here June 12-14, followed by the Astros on June 16-18. The Padres come to town on June 26-28.

The Rangers will play at the Diamondbacks, Giants and Astros during Interleague play. The trip to Houston will be a weekend visit on May 22-24.
