The Rangers have placed Brandon McCarthy on the 60-day disabled list to make room for Dustin Nippert. That means McCarthy will be out until the end of May. He was supposed to start a throwing program this weekend.

I think Rheinecker (not BMac) was 60′d for Nippert, a couple days ago. The BMac move (along with the two DFA’s) clear spots for German, Wright, and Melhuse.
How is Danks looking now? I believe Danks took his lumps last year, and has taken the next step. I also believe the same thing about Volquez. I also think the same thing about Mendoza. Wouldn’t that look awful nice as opposed to what we have now? Oh well we never learn. Same song different verse. Daniels isn’t old enough to remember, Darling, Righetti, Terrell, and Nen. I am and i obviously can’t forget. How could i? Now it will be Danks, Volquez and Young. Isn’t a left handed starting pitching prospect a hot commodity? Sure seems to be for other teams. Not so much here. It is all about the freaking starting pitching folks. 70 starts from 3 guys, ha ha ha ha ha. 47 victories, ha ha ha, maybe if Millwood worked out and Padilla could stay off the “juice”. In this case i am talking about wine, not steroids. Ha Ha. 630 innings pitched from those 3? Ha ha, ha, maybe if you count rehab innings. Get real. Everyone knows this isn’t going to happen, yet we hope and hope. Why not address this issue in the offseason, get some other pitchers that you can depend on and then put your hopes in them!
So, this offeason we should have gone after a bunch of veteran pitching to replace the veteran pitching we have now? What happened to rebuilding? Who are these “other pitchers you can depend on” that were available this offseason? Kyle Lohse? Carlos Silva? How do you decide rather you want to rebuild or go with overpriced veterans on a day to day basis? Is it rebuild (Tigerplan) on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and the rest of the week complain about how we didn’t add more veteran talent in the offseason, or is there even a method?
Veterans or rookies? I believe Young was a 2 year veteran and young when he was given away. Volquez and Danks were prospects. What i am saying is STOP TRADING OUR PITCHING PROSPECTS! END OF STORY EXCLAMATION POINT. YOU DON”T TRADE YOUR TOP PITCHING PROSPECTS! Especially with our history. Does anyone else know this? Does any other organization do this? No not unless they are getting Johan Santana or Josh Beckett in return. I would like to see Hurley, Harrison, Mathis, Mendoza, and any other young pitcher get a chance as a starter, take their lumps and take the next step a.k.a Tigerplan. I said it then and i say it now. Danks is going to make us sick this year as he becomes a pitcher we all thought he could be. DVD, DVD, DVD? Anyone else remember? How about this t-shirt. DVD where are you? Or Daniels tore my DVD apart by shipping two pieces away. Now all we have is HD Hamilton and Diamond. I prefer the pitching it is what wins championships, until we get it then all bets are off. Millwood and Padilla have pitched good so far. It is looking like Jennings needs some time in the minors. Gabbard and Mendoza i like. Hurler Hurley bring him on. I want to see the future.
