Fifth starter news

Sorry to interrupt Toby but some fifth starter news: Josh Rupe and John Koronka were among the cuts Sunday morning. They’ve been sent to the minors, leaving Bruce Chen, Jamey Wright and Kam Loe as the fifth starter finalists. Also, check the website later to see how Gerald Laird’s morning went. Now back to Toby…

I wonder if anyone out there wants Koronka, Rupe or frankly even Robinson tj…There seems no reason to keep those guys around…anyone disagree??

Keep Robinson Tejeda. No more retreads!

Just a few weeks ago weren’t Tejeda & Rupe our (practically anointed) #’s 4 & 5?

And in a few weeks whomever you (Fred) are anointing in their place could hit a wall.

Patience.

And if you trade, sell high, buy low. Not these 2 now.

For example, get Wright & Chen on the roster, posting a 1.17 ERA for afew weeks, and then trade one of them before he hits a predictable wall, in order a) to get a bunch in return and b) to bring up Kam Loe.

Not now.

Josh Rupe is 24 years old with 4 major league caliber pitches. Why would you want to get rid of a guy like that?

You cant rid yourself of any of those guys when the season hasnt even started. If the season starts and Wright or Loe gets hurt or struggles you have no one to turn to. Just a couple weeks ago we were talking about how those guys have promising stuff. I agree with eightgleasons.

It’s all about production. Josh Rupe and Koronka (and Tejeda, Padilla, Littleton, and others) are YUKKING it up, big-time. I’d give the edge to anyone who is performing: Loe, Wright, Chen over someone who is stinking the place up. I don’t know how else you can figure it-keep the hot hands and filter out the stinkers. Makes sense, doesn’t it? Are we planning 3 years ahead with THIS YEAR’S rotation, or are we keeping guys who are pitching well. It’s a no-brainer, at least it is to this blogger.

whoever gives us the best option, keep…simple as that..i think loe then wright

T.R. has said it best … it’s about time this organization started giving the young guys a chance and sticking with them … not jumping ship after two or three poor spring outings.

T.R.
Do you know what Wright and Chen have done in past Springs?

Is this normal for them or are they stepping it up for the competition?
